By 2050, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s disease may nearly triple, from 5.4 million to a projected 13.8 million.

Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (BAI) has launched a new era of Alzheimer’s research focused on treatment and prevention before symptoms appear.

As part of this effort, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (BAI) championed and leads the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative (API), an international collaborative formed to evaluate the most promising therapies as quickly as possible. However, identifying the right people for these studies is not easy, and an estimated 80 percent of research studies are delayed because too few people volunteer to participate. To help with recruitment efforts, BAI spearheads the Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry (www.endALZnow.org), an online community designed to recruit and connect people 18 years and older to participate in critical prevention research.

If you’re a healthy person with no symptoms of the disease, one of the easiest ways to get involved is by enrolling in the Registry and exploring possibilities of participating in this exciting new frontier of Alzheimer’s research.

From birthdays and graduations, to weddings and children, our lives are filled with precious memories. But Alzheimer's has the power to erase them. Let your voice be heard.

The memories you save could be your own.
